Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") explains how refunds, cancellations, and credit adjustments are handled for Job Refined's Services. This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Job Refined operates on a pay-as-you-go credit model — there are no recurring subscriptions for core services. You purchase credits that are consumed when you use AI-powered features.
2. Credit Pack Purchases
2.1. General Rule
Credit pack purchases (Starter, Popular, Pro) are non-refundable once the transaction is complete, as credits are immediately available for use upon purchase.
2.2. Exceptions
We will provide a refund for credit pack purchases in the following circumstances:

2.3. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Under the Australian Consumer Law:
- (a) You are entitled to a refund if the Services have a major failure — that is, the Services are substantially unfit for their common purpose, are unsafe, or do not match what was described to you;
- (b) You are entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund) if the Services fail to meet a consumer guarantee and the failure does not amount to a major failure;
- (c) These rights apply regardless of any other provision in this Policy.
For consumers in the European Union, equivalent consumer protection rights under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and applicable national laws also apply.
3. BYOK License Purchases
3.1. General Rule
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) license purchases ($29.99 one-time for a 12-month license) are non-refundable once activated, as the license is immediately available for use.
3.2. Exceptions
We will provide a refund for BYOK purchases in the following circumstances:

3.3. BYOK Expiry
BYOK licenses expire after 12 months. There is no refund for unused license periods if you stop using the Services before the license expires.
4. Credit Adjustments (Non-Monetary)
4.1. AI Feature Failures
If an AI-powered feature fails to produce a result due to a system error (not a content quality issue), we may, at our discretion, restore the credits consumed by the failed operation. This includes:
- (a) API timeout or server error during processing;
- (b) AI provider outage resulting in no output; or
- (c) System bug that causes credits to be deducted without generating output.
4.2. How to Request a Credit Adjustment
Contact us at hello@jobrefined.ai with:
- Your account email address;
- The date and approximate time of the failed operation;
- A description of what happened (e.g., "Resume polish showed an error and no results were generated").
We will investigate and, if the failure is confirmed, restore the credits within 5 business days.
4.3. What Does NOT Qualify for Credit Adjustment
Credit adjustments are not provided for:
- (a) AI outputs you are dissatisfied with (AI content quality is subjective and inherently variable);
- (b) Credits consumed by features that functioned correctly but did not produce your desired outcome;
- (c) Credits consumed before you chose to delete your account;
- (d) Credits consumed while experimenting with or learning how to use the Services;
- (e) Price changes after your purchase (credits are not retroactively adjusted for price reductions); or
- (f) Changes in exchange rates between the time of purchase and time of use.
5. Free Credits
5.1. Non-Refundable
Free credits (including the initial 15 lifetime credits, student bonus credits, and referral credits) have no monetary value and are not refundable, exchangeable for cash, or transferable.
5.2. Forfeiture
Free credits are forfeited upon account deletion and cannot be restored if you create a new account.
6. Account Deletion and Unused Credits
6.1. Voluntary Deletion
If you choose to delete your account:
- (a) Unused purchased credits are forfeited and are not refundable;
- (b) A 30-day grace period applies before permanent deletion — you may reactivate your account and recover your credits during this period; and
- (c) After permanent deletion, credits cannot be recovered.
6.2. Account Suspension or Termination by Us
If we suspend or terminate your account due to a Terms of Service violation:
- (a) For minor violations, we may, at our discretion, refund unused purchased credits;
- (b) For serious violations (fraud, abuse, illegal activity), unused credits are forfeited without refund.
7. How to Request a Refund
7.1. Process
To request a refund:
- Email us at hello@jobrefined.ai with the subject line "Refund Request";
- Include the following information:
- Your account email address;
- The date and amount of the charge;
- The reason for the refund request; and
- Any supporting evidence (e.g., screenshots of errors, duplicate charge receipts).
7.2. Response Time
We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and provide a decision within 10 business days.
7.3. Refund Method
Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method used for the purchase (via Stripe). Refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your payment provider.
7.4. Currency
Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original transaction. We are not responsible for any exchange rate differences between the time of purchase and the time of refund.
8. Chargebacks
8.1. Contact Us First
We strongly encourage you to contact us at hello@jobrefined.ai before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card provider. We are committed to resolving billing disputes fairly and promptly.
8.2. Chargeback Consequences
If a chargeback is initiated and we determine that the charge was legitimate:
- (a) Your account may be suspended pending resolution;
- (b) Credits associated with the disputed charge will be removed from your account; and
- (c) We reserve the right to recover any costs associated with the chargeback process.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in accordance with Section 20 of our Terms of Service. Changes will not apply retroactively to purchases made before the effective date of the updated Policy.
