Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing your use of Job Refined's Services (as defined in our Terms of Service). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
By using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this AUP at any time by posting the revised version on our Website.
2. Permitted Use
The Services are provided solely for legitimate job search and career development purposes, including:
- (a) Uploading, editing, and tailoring your own resumes for job applications;
- (b) Parsing job descriptions for roles you are genuinely interested in applying to;
- (c) Using AI features to improve your application materials;
- (d) Tracking your job applications and managing your job search pipeline;
- (e) Practising for interviews using the mock interview feature;
- (f) Seeking career guidance through the AI Career Coach; and
- (g) Exporting finalized application materials for submission to employers.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Services to:
3.1. Content Integrity Violations
- (a) Fabricate qualifications — Create, submit, or distribute resumes, cover letters, or other application materials that contain false qualifications, degrees, certifications, work experience, or skills that you do not possess;
- (b) Misrepresent identity — Impersonate another person, use another person's credentials, or create application materials on behalf of another person without their knowledge and consent;
- (c) Plagiarise — Submit AI-generated content as a work sample, writing test, or portfolio piece where original work is explicitly required by the employer;
- (d) Deceive employers — Use the Services to create deliberately misleading application materials intended to deceive employers about your qualifications or suitability.
3.2. System Abuse
- (e) Automated access — Use bots, scripts, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated tools to access, interact with, or extract data from the Services without our prior written consent;
- (f) Rate limit circumvention — Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or manipulate rate limiting, credit consumption controls, or any other technical restrictions;
- (g) Account abuse — Create multiple accounts to exploit free credits, referral rewards, student verification benefits, or promotional offers;
- (h) Referral fraud — Use fake email addresses, disposable accounts, or coordinated schemes to inflate referral counts or earn referral credits fraudulently;
- (i) Credit manipulation — Attempt to modify, reverse, or fraudulently inflate your credit balance through any means;
- (j) Reverse engineering — Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive the source code, algorithms, or AI prompts of the Services.
3.3. AI System Abuse
- (k) Prompt injection — Attempt to manipulate AI model behaviour through adversarial prompts, injection attacks, jailbreaking techniques, or other methods designed to bypass content filters or safety measures;
- (l) Model extraction — Attempt to extract, replicate, or reconstruct the AI models, system prompts, or chain configurations used by the Services;
- (m) Data harvesting — Use AI features to systematically extract, collect, or compile data from the Services for purposes unrelated to your personal job search;
- (n) Adversarial testing — Conduct security testing, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or fuzzing against the Services without our prior written authorization.
3.4. Harmful Content
- (o) Illegal content — Upload, transmit, or generate content that violates any applicable law or regulation;
- (p) Malicious code — Upload files containing malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any other harmful code;
- (q) Spam and phishing — Use the Services to generate spam emails, phishing materials, social engineering content, or fraudulent communications;
- (r) Harassment — Use the Services to harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate any individual;
- (s) Hate speech — Upload or generate content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
3.5. Commercial Misuse
- (t) Resale — Resell, sublicense, lease, or commercially redistribute the Services, AI-generated outputs, or access to your account;
- (u) Competing services — Use the Services to build, train, or improve a competing product or service;
- (v) Bulk processing — Use the Services for bulk resume processing, recruitment agency operations, or HR automation without a separate commercial agreement with us;
- (w) Third-party services — Integrate the Services into third-party applications or services without our prior written consent.
4. Your Responsibilities
4.1. Content Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide through the Services is accurate and truthful. While AI features help you present your experience more effectively, the underlying facts, qualifications, and experience must be genuine.
4.2. Content Review
You must review all AI-generated content before using it in job applications. AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, and you are solely responsible for the final content you submit to employers.
4.3. Compliance
You must comply with:
- (a) All applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction;
- (b) The terms of service of any job board, employer portal, or recruitment platform where you submit materials created using the Services;
- (c) Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; and
- (d) Any additional guidelines we publish from time to time.
4.4. Account Security
You must:
- (a) Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others;
- (b) Use a strong, unique password;
- (c) Enable two-factor authentication where possible; and
- (d) Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
5. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) Additional Rules
If you use the BYOK feature, the following additional rules apply:
5.1. You must comply with the terms of service and acceptable use policies of the third-party LLM provider whose API key you use (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google).
5.2. You must not use BYOK to:
- (a) Circumvent content safety filters or usage policies of LLM providers;
- (b) Process data belonging to other individuals without their consent; or
- (c) Generate content that violates the LLM provider's usage policies.
5.3. You are solely responsible for any costs, liabilities, or violations arising from use of your own API keys.
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
6.1. Monitoring
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor your use of the Services for compliance with this AUP. We may use automated systems (including rate limiting, anomaly detection, and content filtering) to detect potential violations.
6.2. Investigation
If we become aware of a potential violation, we may:
- (a) Investigate the suspected violation;
- (b) Request information or an explanation from you; and
- (c) Preserve relevant data for the duration of the investigation.
6.3. Enforcement Actions
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take one or more of the following actions at our sole discretion:
- (a) Warning — Issue a written warning;
- (b) Content removal — Remove or disable access to content that violates this AUP;
- (c) Feature restriction — Temporarily restrict your access to specific features;
- (d) Suspension — Temporarily suspend your account;
- (e) Termination — Permanently terminate your account and delete your data;
- (f) Credit forfeiture — Forfeit any unused credits (purchased credits may be refunded at our discretion depending on the severity of the violation);
- (g) Referral reversal — Reverse referral credits obtained through fraudulent means; and
- (h) Legal action — Pursue legal remedies, including reporting to law enforcement authorities where criminal conduct is suspected.
6.4. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at hello@jobrefined.ai within 14 days of the action. We will review your appeal and respond within 30 days.
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to us at hello@jobrefined.ai with the subject line "AUP Violation Report." We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated in accordance with Section 20 of our Terms of Service. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
